We provide assessment of individuals who have sustained Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) for the purposes of Road Accident Fund (RAF) claims. A report is then compiled based on the findings of the assessment and the evidence/information availed to the Psychologist. Medico-legal assessments are charged per report completed. The invoiced amount includes the 3 hour assessment session and the full neuropsychological report. To secure a date we require 50% of the fee and the balance paid in full before the report is released.

These assessments are conducted with the aim of indicating an individual’s intellectual functioning level. The assessments also assist in indicating areas of strength and weakness in an individual’s cognitive capacity. Such assessments assist in appropriate school placement, vocational selection, and generally aligning capabilities and expectations. Cognitive assessments include the 2 hour assessment session (which included history taking) and the 2 page report.

This encompasses the assessment of any indicators of internal distress which translates into an individual’s overt behavior. Such assessments are conducted to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional distress. Emotional assessments are conducted to enlighten the individual of their coping and to facilitate growth in that area.

Psychotherapy is talk therapy that is provided by qualified professional with the aim of building a confiding relationship with the client which allows for ventilation of emotions and acquisition of insight and that in turn assists in the relearning of new behavior. Fees are 100% of current medical aid rates, which is about R1000 per 50 minute session (although the rate varies slightly from scheme to scheme). A discounted rate of R900 is offered for payments made in hard cash at the session. The practice can submit directly to medical aids; however, you remain responsible for your account should your scheme not pay. Payment should be made promptly in these instances. If you prefer to pay in cash, a monthly fee statement for you to submit to your medical aid for reimbursement can be provided.

There are numerous benefits to being part of a support groups such as interacting with people who are faced with difficulties which may be similar to yours, sharing information, helping others, and improving your coping. The support groups include, but not limited to, substance abuse, grief, and sexual abuse. We provide virtual support groups. Please note that groups will be faciloitaed on the bases that there are atleast 12 participants and not more than 12 participants.

We run workshops at organisations and in the community which are geared towards providing information on mental health, reducing stigmatization of mentally ill individuals, and linking individuals with institutions that can provide them with assistance. Workshop presentations are charged per hour spent on the premises. this also includes travelling fees for surrounding areas (within a 30km radius). for areas outside this radius, a separate travelling invoice will be provided.
